A sixteenth-century map, engraved onto a brass plate, is placed onto an old-fashioned wooden table. At each corner of the flat map, corresponding to the points of the compass, is a face having an outlet emitting puffs of wind. Each outlet is linked to a tube leading to a plastic globe. At regular intervals, an anesthetic ventilator beside the table sends air through the tubes to the faces, and further into the globe.
