Songlines - a Composition for Globe and Musical Box includes a bronze globe rotating on its north-south axis. The raised edges of the continents and islands on the globe trigger the keys of the musical box, thus generating tone progression and melodies from the outlines on the map. The tone scale has its lowest notes at the South Pole and the highest at the North Pole, with one tone corresponding to one degree on the map. The music-stand next to the machine shows precise notation of the composition.
